Sunday 21st May 2023 at Auckland Chess Centre, 17 Cromwell Street, Mount Eden, Auckland.

Agenda for AGM to be held 7.30pm Sunday 21st May 2023 at Auckland Chess Centre.
1. Minutes of AGM 2023
That minutes of AGM held 24th April 2022 be confirmed as a true and accurate record.
2. Minutes of Special General Meeting (SGM) November 2023
That minutes of SGM held 6th November 2022 be confirmed as a true and accurate record.
3. Annual Report
That the President’s Annual Report be adopted.
4. Financial Statements
That the Financial Statements be adopted.
5. Election of the Executive
The following nominations by Auckland Chess Centre were received prior to AGM notice period.

No other nominations were received.
6. Setting of fees
That the fees for 2023 shall be an Affiliation fee of $100 for affiliated clubs and $50 for associated clubs. All tournament entry fees be $0.
7. Remit by Auckland Chess Centre
That after this AGM, remote attendance or proxy votes shall be counted as physical presence at General meetings and Executive meetings.
8. General Business
Non-binding items by this AGM for the 2023 Executive to consider at their first meeting.

Annual Report 2023
2022 had been a very trying year for the Auckland Chess Association (ACA). Within days of the conclusion of 2022 Annual General Meeting the ACA became so dysfunctional that it took a Special General Meeting in November 2022 which replaced the Executive to resolve the problem.
Only the Blitz (Lightning) interclub tournament was able to be run in the time left available in 2022.
Congratulations to:
- Auckland Chess Centre A, 2022 ACA Lightning Champion.
- Summit Chess Club B, 2022 ACA Lighttning Champion B.

The ACA for this 2023 year would be focused on rebuilding core activities. Primarily around the four interclub tournaments: A Grade, B Grade, Junior, and Blitz. Details of these would be determined by the 2023 Executive whose first meeting should occur immediately after the 2023 Annual General Meeting.
